Exercise like walking etc. can protect our bones from silent attack of  Osteoporosis.

Be active ,take care of your bones, they will love you back .

Symptoms of osteoporosis

At an early stage of the disease, osteoporosis can cause symptoms. Over time, you can start causing a dull pain in the bones or muscles, particularly in the lower back or neck.

Later, in the course of the disease, sudden acute pain may occur. The pain may not be irradiated (spreading to other areas), may be aggravated by performing any activity that is loaded weight on the painful area, this pain can be accompanied by sensitivity and usually begins to disappear last one week. The pain can last more than three months.

People with osteoporosis may forget a fall or other trauma that could have caused a bone fracture, for example in the spine or foot. Vertebral compression fractures can result in a loss of height due to a hunched posture (called hump).

Fractures in other areas, such as the hip or wrist bones, usually, are the result of a fall.

Early symptoms of ostoeporosis
Or height loss or easily broken bones are often the first signs of osteoporosis. Bone density is a term that describes the strength of your bones.

List of symptoms of osteoporosis
The list of the main symptoms of osteoporosis, obtained from various sources, including:

Early symptoms:
Lack of symptoms - in many cases there are no symptoms at first

  • Joint pain
  • Muscle pains
  • Symptoms of bone weakness in advanced osteoporosis are:
  • brittle bones
  • weak bones
  • Fractures - fractures occur easily
  • Back pain
  • Height loss
  • Deformation of the spine

Prevention of Osteoporosis

Anyone can develop osteoporosis. However, there are some risk factors that predispose to develop:

  • People with a family history
  • Women, especially after menopause
  • Older people
  • low calcium diet
  • Medications such as cortisone, antiepileptics or thyroid hormones
  • Excess alcohol, snuff or coffee

Osteoporosis shows no specific symptoms until a fracture occurs. In the case of suspicion of belonging to one of the risk groups, it is best to see a doctor, so that he assess the situation.

Osteoporosis is detected through a bone density test, which measures bone mass and allows early diagnosis of the disease.

Preventing Osteoporosis is done through change of habits, always under the supervision of a specialist.

The main tips to stop the progression of osteoporosis and prevent fractures are:

  1. Take a diet rich in calcium. Most foods are dairy, oily fish and nuts. Every age and personal situation has specific needs calcium.
  2. Prevent fractures. A safe home and the utmost care in the street environment and proper postural education, are necessary to avoid the dreaded fractures.
  3. Physical activity to avoid a sedentary lifestyle. For each person there is a kind of exercise.
  4. In addition, there are especially recommended for people with Osteoporosis exercises. They should also be taken into account correct postural standards when performing daily activities, avoiding jolts, shocks and excessive twisting.

Strong bones Future Thrones

Strong nations win the thrones .As brawny youth symbolize a powerful nation ,similarly strong skeleton ensures healthy individual. Health is a great blessing , only healthy people can enjoy secure future and earn prosperity. Our bones are very important part of our body and their safety is for sure means a lot to our perfect health, any disturbance in the bones can lead to many physical disabilities.
Our skeleton is a framework of bones containing protein (collagen)and minerals mainly calcium and phosphate. Each bone has a thick outer shell known as cortical bone and a strong inner spongy mesh, with blood and bone marrow between the struts of bone.
Two types of cells (building blocks) work side by side in our bones; Osteocytes ( bone making cells ) and Osteoclasts ( bone eating cells). In early life, osteocytes work harder, building skeleton. From our 40s onwards, the osteoclasts become more active and our bones gradually lose their density. This can lead to a disease Osteoporosis. Osteoporosis (osteon= Bone + porosis= porous ) occurs when the struts that make up this structure become thin due to imbalance between new bone formation and old bone resorption. The body may fail to form enough new bone, or too much old bone may be reabsorbed, or both.
Our genes ( Information that pass from generation to next generation ) decide the potential size and  strength of our skeleton, but our life style and diet are much more important, apart from these, various diseases and certain hormonal deficiencies can cause this trouble. Calcium and phosphate are two mineral essential for bone formation. Throughout youth, the body uses these minerals to produce bones. If calcium intake is not sufficient or lack of Vitamin D which helps in absorption of mineral to the bones , bone production may suffer. Thus, the bones may become weaker, resulting in fragile and brittle bones that can break easily. Thus Osteoporosis means a ‘greater risk of fracture’.
